Cellular Enhancement

Cellular enhancement works by bringing the outdoor cellular signal inside. Outside cellular towers broadcast signal in an area and the farther the signal must travel, the weaker it is. This results in poor cell signal quality. Building materials are also another cause of poor cell signal. The outdoor signal cannot penetrate thick or dense material like concrete walls, shielded areas, certain kinds of wood, or even energy efficient coated glass such as low-e glass. Even regular glass windows can reflect cellular signal.

This results in poor in-building connectivity. Phones may run slower, calls are dropped or experience bad voice quality, and texts or data may take a long time to send or be received. Clients or employees may even have to walk to another part of the building for better service.

Cellular signal enhancement solutions increase your in-building signal strength by capturing outside donor signal from nearby cell towers, amplifying it, and rebroadcasting the enhanced signal indoors. This is done by placing an exterior antenna on the building to gather the donor signal, then transmitting it inside to the amplifier, which then rebroadcasts the amplified signal via antennas located inside your building. Alternatively, a device called a small cell located inside the building can provide the donor signal which the enhancement solution amplifies and distributes indoors using the same method.
